About Me
I have been working within Mental Health since 2014, delivering therapy and mentoring trainee counsellors since 2020 and providing clinical supervision since 2023. I am offering remote counselling to anyone aged 18+ living in the UK and remote supervision to both trainee and qualified counsellors based in the UK. Remote can either be over the phone or via a video session – whichever feels best for you. This can also change, as long as I know pre session whether you’re expecting a phone call or video session this can flexible around your needs.
My passion for mental health started in my teenage years when choosing to pursue Psychology at University and furthering this with a Masters in Forensic Psychology. I then went to work on a Medium Secure Mental Health Unit for adults with Acquired Brain Injuries and Mental Health. After a few years I left to retrain in counselling. Since then, I have really expanded my knowledge and experience in counselling: having my own clients; mentoring trainee clients; delivering workshops on LGBTQIA+ awareness; completing my training to be a clinical supervisor and adapting courses to deliver remotely and then providing this course on the 5 Ways to Wellbeing.
Why is this service called Metis? I named my counselling and supervision service after the Greek goddess Metis. She is the goddess of wisdom, craft and deep thought. She also lends her name to a moon of Jupiter that symbolises reflection and insight. All of those attributes fit with my ethos and passion for counselling.
